  the watchtower today says not to think of sex, or to have sexual fantasies.

  i'm just wondering... how many people in the hall hearing this watchtower today would be having sexual fantasies?

  sitting there thinking about sister hottie or brother hunky ?.

  When I was in Bethel in the mid sixties and I was assigned to the Brooklyn Heights congregation, to which most of the Bethel heavies, including Knorr, attended. I helped Harold Dies with the compilation of monthly reports, and those of Knorr's and other Bethel big shots rarely exceeded single digits, which they easily reached by giving talks.

  the degradation of the governing body members continues on.

  mark sanderson gives a talk regarding his visit to belgium for the memorial this year and was travelling from korea to munich to brussels, belgium on the day of the belgium terrorist attacks.he cannot wipe the smirk on his face as he relates his experience, with no regard whatsoever of all those unfortunately affected by the attacks.

  in fact, he personally found god's hand affecting him personally, allowing him to attend the memorial as planned and a kh dedication.he is that privileged during his flight travels that internet was available to him, enabling him to catch up on current news and to contact branch's.

  it seems britain has voted to leave the eu in a move of total madness!

  the markets are already in free fall and the moronic bigots who campaigned for this are celebrating the demise of our country .. i can't see how a 49-51% split can be democratic?

  there is still the postal vote to come in, maybe there's hope in that?

  London is an oasis of prosperity; now let's see how/where the City money managers shift their operations --wealth -- to Dublin and elsewhere. Most of England outside of the southeast is on the dole..how will this ill-considered decision help them? Misplaced chauvinism; when faced with a choice between Great Britain and Little England, they picked the latter.. they've made their bed.

  two days ago a new book was released for download, called "ever-changing teachings of jehovah's witnesses".

  it was originally written by a polish jw scholar (who never was a jw himself) włodzimierz bednarski, with a help from szymon matusiak, who was a jw and an elder, and is a result of years of labourious work to compile quotes regarding every single doctrine the book describes.

  it covers the most important changes in years 1879—2015.

  i.e., acceptance of a transfusion to be deplored, not necessarily disfellowshipped ; offending person to regarded mainly as "spiritually weak," not wicked. From 1958 Watchtower, I believe.

  In all, a much more enlightened, comparatively reasonable approach.

  Did others experience this on the ministry or among JWs generally?

  sometimes it's hard to know if our own experience of jws was typical and what features were peculiar to our own area or the individual jws we knew personally.

  i was wondering if others experienced this among jws:.

  a few times on the ministry, when we were working wealthy areas with large houses, some brothers and sisters would make the comment that they look forward to taking ownership of one of these big houses after armageddon, when the worldly people have vacated them.

  according to our sources, germany bethel will take in charge all treasuries for all europe starting sept 1st.. each bethel will deliver the funds as a donation to german legal entity.. gold ages for ibsa and other entities in eu are over :).

  "Shunning" - now a Watchtower word?

  i know jws have long used the word "shun" in a general sense, as in "shun what is bad".

  but i think they have long avoided using the word in relation to disfellowshipping.

  in external media or literature wherever the word "shunning" was used in a piece about jws it was usually a good indication it was critical of watchtower and not a neutral or supportive commentary.
